Gender Equality & Women’s Empowerment

Our Programs

Health Promotion

We bridge gaps in access to quality healthcare through community‑based education, outreach and partnerships with local providers.

Our focus:

Sexual & Reproductive Health (SRH&R): Family planning; maternal, newborn and child health; STI prevention and counselling.
HIV/AIDS: Testing, linkage to ART, treatment literacy, stigma reduction and positive living.
Infectious Diseases: Prevention and management of HIV, TB, malaria and other communicable diseases.
Non‑Communicable Diseases: Awareness, screening and lifestyle coaching for diabetes, hypertension and cancer.
Tobacco & Substance Use: Smoking cessation support and harm‑reduction education.

How we work: Mobile outreaches, health talks, peer educators, referrals and facility partnerships to improve health literacy and continuity of care.

Gender Equality & Women’s Empowerment

We advocate for male engagement in the fight against sexual and gender-based violence directed at women and girls. We dismantle barriers that limit women’s education, livelihoods and leadership.

What we do:

Economic empowerment: Entrepreneurship and financial‑literacy training; support to start and grow small businesses.
Leadership: Mentoring and pathways for women’s participation in community decision‑making.
GBV prevention & response: Awareness campaigns, survivor‑centred psychosocial support, legal aid and referrals—delivered with local authorities and services.
Male engagement strategy: Uniting the men through Husband Schools, where they receive training to become Community Advocates in the fight against gender-based violence (GBV) and other harmful traditional practices that affect women and girls.

Climate Change Resilience

Sierra Leone faces floods, landslides and food insecurity. We embed resilience into livelihoods and local systems.

Our approach:

Climate‑smart agriculture: Training farmers on soil health, water conservation, diversified crops and sustainable practices.
Reforestation & restoration: Community tree‑planting and stewardship that protect watersheds and improve livelihoods.
Disaster risk reduction: Community workshops and plans that reduce the impact of climate shocks.
Policy advocacy: Championing environmental sustainability and community‑led climate action.

Youth Development

Young people are powerful agents of change.

We invest in:

Education & access: Scholarships, mentorship and school partnerships for under‑resourced youth.
Skills & jobs: Training in ICT, carpentry, tailoring and other marketable skills.
Civic engagement: Youth‑led community action groups designing and delivering local solutions.

Advocacy & Community Mobilization

From village forums to national dialogues, we make sure marginalized voices are heard.

We mobilize to:

Influence gender‑responsive policies and budgets with local and national stakeholders.
Expand citizen participation in planning and accountability processes.
Disaster risk reduction: Community workshops and plans that reduce the impact of climate shocks.
Build coalitions that sustain change beyond single projects.
